Promoting elderly inclusion through an Intergenerational play framework
The methodology used to promote intergenerational play during the pilot sessions is based on three pillars:
- The definition of play as an activity characterised by five features - free, intrisically motivated, fictional, uncertain and ruled ;
- The ESAR system for the structuration of the play activity according to the four main categories of play, namely Exercise, Symbolic, Assembly and Rules games ;
- The design of the play framework along four dimensions: the organization of the play space, the selection of games, the functioning rules of the play sessions and the behaviour of professionals.
The following document provides a more detailed overview of the project, including the play and evaluation framework used during the pilot sessions. This document was used to train the professionals participating in the project in Luxembourg, as well as the professionals of Projeto Rua Team in Portugal.
